EUROPEA POLAND

EUROPEA Poland is an association of agricultural and forestry schools and institutions. We are a member of EUROPEA International, www.europea.org, which was founded in 1993 by the Belgian Law and we are a non profit institution. In the network  EUROPEA INTERNATIONAL there are currently 26 EU members and one associated country Norway. We are very keen to assist and encourage new members of the EU to become members of EUROPEA International. More than 700 schools and other institutions related to agricultural education are members of our association; therefore we interact with  ten thousand young people daily.

There are 43 Polish agricultural technical and vocational schools associated to EUROPEA POLAND. They are located across Poland. Most of our schools' communities belong to rural areas with high rates of unemployment and low income.  These problems frequently lead to social exclusion and a lack of perspective for young people. EUROPEA POLAND strives to recognise students’ problems and needs, educate them to become well-qualified employees excellent values and ethos.

As EUROPEA POLAND we provide opportunities to a very large group of young people to develop their own futures. We organise championships for students in all kinds of fields, such as cheese-making, forestry, landscaping, floristry, judging livestock, making wine, agricultural competencies, fishing and others.  With regard to educational innovation we compare our educational systems and learning methods so we learn a lot from each other by working together in all kinds of European projects like Leonardo da Vinci, Life Long Learning projects. Every year we have two partner meetings, held in the country which has the Presidency of the European Union. In 2011 Poland will host head teachers, stakeholders and others involved in vocational education from more than 20 countries of the EU.

A group of EUROPEA members is working in a Transfer of Innovation project about EQF.  There is a large partner group in the ToI project ALIVE – Authentic Learning In Vocational Training - and 23 countries worked on the Leonardo da Vinci partnership project CHAVET – Challenges in Vocational Education and Training in 2009. This year we are working on our next LdV project for which EUROPEA POLAND will be a coordinator and the organiser of the first meeting in Poland.

EUROPEA Poland is organising a study visit “Through innovative professional training to success in the labour market” in September 2011.
